Adoptive Families: Adam & Jamie
Dear Birth Parents,
We can’t even begin to know the struggles facing you at this point in your lives, but we are so grateful that you had the courage to choose adoption!
Our names are Adam and Jamie, and we are best friends who have been married almost 17 years. We met during our freshman year in college and became close friends. Along with our other friends, we visited Jamie’s family for weekend water-skiing trips to the lake, and Adam’s family for their annual Halloween party.
Nine years after we first met, we were married in Jamie’s hometown, in the church where she grew up. The love and laughter we shared back then has only grown deeper over time, and we are looking forward to sharing that with our children. Our parents, siblings, nieces and nephews are looking forward to welcoming a new member to the family. Our “chosen family” – three couples who are very dear friends – and their children are also excited for us to become parents. Your child will be enveloped in a loving and supportive network of friends and family. Your baby will be our first child and we’d love to adopt a second one as well.
Adam is a pricing analyst for a large oil and gas manufacturing business, and Jamie is a Special Education teacher in a nearby school district. Although Jamie is currently working, she looks forward to being a stay-at-home mom. Adam loves playing the guitar, writing his own music, woodworking, and cars. He enjoys people and loves making others laugh! Jamie enjoys kids, reading, writing stories, being Adam’s assistant on home projects, and traveling. We spend a lot of time with family, friends, and our two dogs, Patchie and Sheila.
We strive to genuinely live our lives based on God’s word. We attend a large Christian church that Adam’s family has been involved in since he was a child. It is very important to us that we set a good example for our children and that we instill good values in them. We will stress the importance of honesty, integrity, treating all people with dignity and respect, humility, and helping others. We will teach our children to work hard, be self sufficient, and love our country. We will also support and encourage them to discover their talents and chase their dreams, and we’ll do whatever we can to help them achieve their goals. Through it all, there will be an abundance of hugs, love, understanding, and LOTS of laughter.
Family time is very important to us. We will play in the yard, visit grandparents and aunts and uncles, swim in our neighborhood pool, and explore new places together near home and on our family vacations. There will be trips to the zoo and museums, working with Mom and Dad on craft and home projects, reading stories together at night, and bedtime prayers together. We will give everything of ourselves to ensure that your child is raised in a stable Christian home filled with love, happiness, family, and a chance to pursue their dreams. Please know that your child will only hear positive comments about you, and that you will always have a special place in our hearts.
We can only imagine the heartache and sacrifice you are going through, but we believe God will guide you to choose the right parents for your child. You are already in our thoughts and prayers. If you would like to know more about us or meet us, please contact Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services Adoption Services at 1-800-543-2229 or 713-522-2800.
God bless you,
Adam and Jamie
