PCHAS Welcomes New VP for Development

On April 11, PCHAS welcomed the Rev. Peter D. Crouch as its new Vice President of Development. A Presbyterian minister with 22 years of experience, he has provided leadership for several Presbyterian-related ministries. full story

• September 10: Basic Volunteer Training | Waxahachie, TX

• October 8: Advanced Volunteer Training | Waxahachie, TX
  The Advanced Volunteer Training is required for any volunteer who may be responsible for the safety of children without staff present and when away from a residential home. Any volunteer who has completed the application process and who wants to become a Level 2 volunteer is eligible to participate. Class is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch is provided and registration is free. Each day in Texas, more than 40 children are removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect and brought to foster homes like ours. They are scared, angry and sad... but perhaps their most overwhelming emotion is the fear of being alone.

At PCHAS we believe kids in foster care are OUR kids, and we provide them the love, protection and nurture they need even when their own families can't. May is National Foster Care Month, and in this issue you will learn more about the services we provide and what some are doing to help. read more
